Serial codelocks offer a higher level of security against tampering than “stand-alone” codelocks.
The keypad is the input peripheral for the data which is processed by the remote sited control unit (normally installed in a secure area), to which the keypad is connected through a serial connection. Greater security against tampering is achieved as the lock relays are housed within the remote sited control equipment. The serial codelock units are powered from the control unit which houses the relays and stored access codes.
